Please Open Up Your Hearts (and Wallets) for the People of Haiti
This is a personal note — an urgent appeal — to all of you, my valued readers and your friends.
By now you will have seen the terrible news about the devastation and unbelievable suffering caused by the massive earthquake in Haiti. I am heartened by the response of my country, the US, and many countries around the world.
Now, each of us must also take some responsibility and do something to help. Of course, the best way is to donate money. As former President Clinton said at the UN yesterday, it can be one or two dollars, anything you can afford to give.
I just donated today to Doctors Without Borders. There are plenty of other legitimate relief organizations that you can support to help out our fellow human beings in Haiti, who need our help NOW.
In so many ways, we human beings are defined by how we care for others in need. Now is the time to really show that caring. Please help the people of Haiti. I promise, it will make you feel like a million bucks!
